Habitat for Humanity’s Flathead chapter has repurposed part of its ReStore building for the production of prefabricated homes, boosting productivity and cutting costs.

Habitat for Humanity of Flathead Valley is set to break ground mid-August on a new development in Columbia Falls. The project will turn Railroad Park, located on Railroad Street and C Street, into a new neighborhood. The organization is partnering with the Northwest Montana Community Land Trust on the project. “In cooperation with the city council and the mayor,” said MaryBeth Morand, executive director for Habitat for Humanity of the Flathead Valley. “We are building 6 single-family residences that will be very similar to the pre-existing neighborhood there and we are putting in a park space with a little playground in it.”
